Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 30, 2026

Vencito does not collect, sell or share any personal data.

  • On-device data. Products, photos, dates and settings are stored only on your iPhone or iPad. There are no accounts, servers of our own, analytics or ads.
  • Camera and photos. They are used only to take or pick a product's photos (product, barcode, expiry date) and read its expiration date, including in live scan. Live scan video is never recorded or stored: at most one frame is kept, if you want it, as the product photo. Text recognition (OCR) and barcode scanning run on-device using Apple frameworks.
  • Artificial intelligence. Product recognition and recipe ideas use Apple Intelligence on-device (Foundation Models). Photos and text are not sent to any server.
  • Notifications. Expiration reminders are local notifications scheduled by your iPhone. They don't go through any server.
  • Open Food Facts and sister databases (optional). When you scan a barcode, the app detects one in a product photo, or you tap "Look up product by barcode", the app sends only that barcode to the public Open Food Facts API to get the product's name, brand and category. The app never downloads photos from the internet: a product's photos are only the ones you take or choose. If it isn't found there, it looks it up in its sister databases, run by the same organization: Open Beauty Facts (cosmetics and hygiene) and Open Products Facts (other products, such as over-the-counter medicines). The same single piece of data is sent to each, and nothing else — never the photo. You can turn automatic lookup off in Settings → Look up the product by barcode. Those requests are subject to the Open Food Facts privacy policy.
  • Tips. "Buy me a coffee" purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. The app never receives or stores your payment details.
  • iCloud (optional). If sync stays on (Settings → iCloud), your products and photos are stored in your private iCloud so you can see them on your other iPhones and iPads with the same Apple Account. Apple manages it; the developer has no access to that data. You can turn it off in Settings. It uses your iCloud storage.
  • Backups. JSON files you export stay wherever you save them. The app never uploads them.
  • Deletion. Delete everything from Settings → Delete all products, or by uninstalling the app.
  • Children. The app is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
